Community Action Service
School Visit-Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Sumatra Utara
One important action that our school has is community action service. That is also becoming my vision and mission to promote the importance of library and information literacy. It is not only happened within the school but I also try to share the knowledge that I have to every one who needs it. On last August our school, specifically, library had been visited by 30 representative people from different education background from North Sumatra to learn and share knowledge with us. It had been a great chance for me and my team to develop ourselves since we all know that North Sumatra is really good in developing their literacy skills and promote the libraries. One thing that is good for our school, start from that moment our partnership last until today. We can update news and share information not only between our two institutions but also expand our networking.
East Java Workshop-Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Timur
As a winner of national competition, I have another task to share my knowledge. Under the coordination of Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Timur, periodically I should give training to librarians all around East Java. There were 3 training that I attended and my role as a workshop leader allowed me to explore the method and materials because I realized that I could not forced the things that I have in my school to the other schools which facilities still below my school. There were several things that we both, my trainees and I realized that even though we came from different school background but we still can learn from each other. There are a lot of new experiences that I brought home to develop my further progress.
APISI (Asosiasi Pekerja Informasi Sekolah Indonesia)
APISI is one of the organization which help me developing my IL skills. Here in this organization I met wonderful people with great background knowledge where I can share ideas and thought. This year I had the opportunity to be involved in one of APISI workshop as one panelist. At this place also, once again I met the chief of IASL who finally gave me free access to IASL membership. I become more and more developed in my learning journey this year thank to APISI, APUTSI, and IASL. During the event we also launched our book as a result of IL workshop in 2008.
Sharing Moment-Sanata Dharma University
To meet and work with other librarians is my dream and this year I succeed to expand my networking system national, regional and international. There are lot of opportunities that I can have this year, one of them is a discussion moment which I attended last March. Here I could met people from LIPI, PNRI, librarians from elementary, junior high, high school, and university throughout Indonesia. There were a lot of things we have been discussed at that time including the declaration of APKI (Asosiasi Pustakawan Katholik Indonesia).
