PYP 1 - Fiction Story Character
During the transdisciplinary theme How The World Works students learned about fiction story in Information Literacy lesson. Here they explored different types of fiction story and learned to identify the character in the story. Then they continued the work by drawing the character from the story they have read. On the other side in their classroom they learned about shapes (2D). Here they were introduced about the main shapes such as circle, square, rectangle, triangle and oval.
In order to sharpen their understanding in Information Literacy during Maker Space project they tried to make connection between the lesson that they learned in IL and math activity. Here they were challenged to produce a duplication of their fiction character, which they drew before, by making a collage of the picture by using 2D shapes. At this point they used their creativity and thinking skills to create something new that they never explored before.
